I might be moving to the Atlanta area and I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience with, or an opinion on Allen Pittman.
I know he was a "disciple" of Hung I Mien, but I think he only spent a couple of years with him. I've got Lou's tapes and I think I'd really like Gao style, but is Pittman's material the same or close to Lou's? Does Pittman teach applications worth anything?
Tim, have you ever met him?
Thanks,
Rich
Peace
Allen is a good friend of mine. We used to workout on weekends and exchange methods during my stay in ATL.
He knows his stuff. if I remember right he trained with Hung for about 10yrs and yes he does teach applications in a no nonsense way.
I've had the oppertunity to train with Lou as well
and their both good. The forms are not quite the same but that's natural. I've felt them both as well. Lou is powerful but Pittman is no joke either. There is no doubt in my mind that you can learn something.
Check him out he's worth it.
Peace

Rich,
I've never met Allen.
Thanks guys. If I make the move to Atlanta, I'll definatly look him up.
I'm currently taking Ba Gua and Hsing-I from Allen, and, if I'm any judge, he definitely knows his stuff ^_^
Does Allen Pittman teach in the Atlanta area? I am looking for a place to train in Ba Gua. Would he be a good instructor for this? Where exactly is his studio? Would anyone recommend any other place to train in Ba Gua? Thank you.
Yes, Allen teaches in Atlanta, nearby Freedom Parkway in the StudioPlex area. Check out his site at www.apittman.com for information.
