Can you please elaborate on some of the history behind this art and the creator of it. Can you describe the characteristics of this style. Did you see this style in Taiwain or the mainland?

Ziranmen was popularized by Du Xinwu (1869-1953) in the early part of the last century. He claimed to have learned it from a dwarf surnamed Xu.

The style contains no set forms practice, rather power is acquired through several specialized training methods designed to enhance the practitioners inherent force, so the art was named "Natural Boxing."

According to the "Zhongguo Wushu Shiyung Daquan:" training apparatus includes a wooden ball, sandbag training, wooden dowel training and post kicking. Martial application and physical cultivation are practiced together. At the highest level the spirit guides the action naturally.

Du Xinwu's top student was Wan Laisheng, I know he has students that actively teach today.

I've only seen film of Ziranmen, as far as I know no one teaches the art in Taiwan. I believe most practitioners are in Southen China.

I don't think there is much information about Xu. Apparently all the information about him came from Du Xinwu (who definately was a fighter. He worked for a time as Sun Yatsen's bodyguard).
