Right you are Bob#2. The old way of anglicizing it would have been Pa Kua Chang. Eight Triagrams (some say diagrams but not exactly accurate) Palm. Based on the triagrams of the I-Ching if I remember correctly.

Marc, I agree with you 100% on this one. No man calls himself master who is a master. That title is accorded by one's students and peers. Critique but don't criticize. Render an opinion but also accept opinions. Bravo!

T 69-73

"Anglicizing"?

How very white of you, giving the British so much credit.

I did notice however the diploma was also in Spanish...?

Are you being ethnocentric or just dumb?

Maybe the word ROMANIZE is what you mean. Being the ancient Roman alphabet is the foundation of most (nearly all) of the modern European alphabets are derived- 23 characters w, u, & J were added later

ALAG,

Writing Chinese in English. Though my ancestry is Irish, English, French, and Native American I speak, read, and write English. English is not actually a Romance language though it does use many words with Latin roots and derives most of its alphabet from Latin. As for Spanish I don't speak it. I didn't intend to step on the toes of the Romans.

ALAG,

Wait a minute. I see what you're talking about now. Since the alphabet is derived from the latin and I'm not translating it would be Romanizing. I tend to think in English. Sorry, as I said I didn't mean to step on the toes of the Romans. Also, at my age senility may well be setting in.

Why are you so angry?

Did you guys check you the videos

Bawahahahahaha !!!

They are fighting training using the form!!!

Form is a tool which leads you to a self defence method, but don't literaly translate form as "the method"

In the weapons section this must be the only chinese Pa Kua I've come across that uses a japanese Shinai for weapons practice... or am I wrong... rebuttals not to include any of the same Pa Kua Chang organisation schools in Arizona, New York, Chicago.

Oh and check out in the weapons section "articulated double sticks"

Also check out the Kendo Photos whoops I mean 2 man Pa Kua Jian practice

http://www.pakua.org/weapons/Shinai.htm

Then theres allway the "Pa Kua" 2 man traditional Jian Practice

http://www.pakua.org/weapons/Saber.htm

Bawahahahahahahah !!!

and another

Bawahahahahahahaa !!!! for good measure

Nuff Said

Is that on? Dontch have to arch the back to but armbar on ? Or am I missing some coplex Pa Kua change here?

By Michael Andre Babin on Sunday, April 23, 2006 - 10:18 am: Edit Post

I see now why my pa-kua is not as advanced as it should be... I have failed to master the flying side-kick shown on the homepage of pakua.org; I already knew that I was lacking in snappy uniforms so that wasn't a surprise.

On the other hand, making fun of other people isn't always as straight-forward as it seems. Anyone who has been a real fight or two will recognize that you can't always tell about the quality of the "fight" in an opponent until it is too late.

Years ago, a friend of mine who had been a cop said from bitter experience that "even a mouse will bite hard, if you corner it".

Hey Michael,

That reminds me of my uncle. Many years ago the theatres used to have ushers. He was an usher. He is a small and very timid man who is very quiet and polite. He was cleaning up the men's room while the movie was being shown. Two guys had seen him go in there and decided they were going to rob him. They advanced on him yelling threats and he kept backing away trying to avoid the violence. Finally they backed him into a corner where he couldn't escape. He went berserk and almost killed both of them. They went to the hospital and then to jail. Clearly they underestimated their opponent.
