Mr. Cartmell,
Do you teach Shou Ta Quan in your school? I understand that this most secret and deadly art is not usually taught until a student has mastered the entire Shen Wu system, but I am in a hurry.

Please help.

Dear Miss Betty,

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement.

I have no doubt that you are skilled in the ways of fighting. In my neighborhood, girls with big balls are among the greatest warriors.

I would be honored if you would teach me about gluttony by shoving those big balls in your mouth.

Hey, I've seen sloth boxing at Tim's in '98 or '99 and believe me, it was AMAZING!!! I only learned the first move from the founder as he was demonstrating it for Tim and Big Dave. On the back - arms and legs in the air kind of thing. I mean WOW man. You have to see it to believe it.

I heard that Glen can do this...

I was blown away by the Sloth Style demonstration, the 'Aggressive Passivity Palm'is unbelievable... and the Master's ability to move so slowly he cannot be seen is very, very spooky. We were like "whoa, where'd he go?? where'd he go??"

I too have had the pleasure of seeing a small portion of the sloth style. It's pretty incredible. I, personally would never even attempt to train in it. I simply don't have the patience to master it.

Although, Mr. Hackert the definition of Lust within the context of the 7 deadly sins is:
Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body. I think the big balls comment would fall more into this biblically referenced catagory. (Let's just get it straight for the historical record)

Now Gluttony (one of my personal favorites) is classified as:
Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.
(This 'sin' was written extensively in 'La Divina Commedia,' 5th Canto by Dante Alighieri. Ciacco the Hog rocks. If we all could be a little more like Ciacco...)

And of course, there is the beloved Sloth:
Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work. On which, this infamous fighting style is based...

For the record Mr. Bemybubba, I don't know if Glen is that flexible, but if he is, it would answer several pointed questions about his persona...After this visual imagery, I know that I won't be able to sleep at night.

I would not want to offend a purple belt, but I'm pretty sure I meant gluttony. There was always the chance that Betty would enjoy it. In that case I think I would have gotten two for one.

For the record, I did not throw Glenn's name into this. I say this only only because I am afraid of him, very afraid...

I was hoping to elicit a response from our friend and mentor Mr. Cartmell, but drew the ire of Miss Betty instead...

For them's that care, the Assasin is alive and well and still in Virginia. I miss most of you and am looking for any chance to train with anyone on the left coast (Joe?).

Ah, the Sloth style. Obviously Jeff H. is trying to draw attention to himself with his questions, as he is one of the few living masters of this unique style. Jeff (aka "The Assasin" ) is a living encyclopedia of Sloth technique. I remember clearly the grandmaster of the style commenting on Jeff, "he may not be very strong, but at least he's slow." And this is why he was able to master the art (albiet very slowly).
