"Systema" or Russian military art. Check out Mikhail Ryabko, Vladimir Vasiliev's teacher, at a seminar he gave last year. Ryabko says he learned his art from a bodyguard of Joseph Stalin.

Uh Huh.

I am having a hard time discerning the "wriggling" from the real.

Jeez...how bout a little "Seeking of The Straight Thru The Curved"...as in "The Light Thru The Fog "...or "The Hammer From The Sickle"

Oh well I'll give it a rest. One of Mao Tse Tung's "former bodyguards" is waiting for our lesson.

Otherwise I'll be left to search for another "secret system"

Say...does anyone know where "Che Guevara's"
old bodyguards train?

"I have seen and enjoyed most of Mr. Vasiliev's [Systema]tapes, the similarities with the Chinese Internal styles are often remarkable..." -- Tim Cartmell, 14 Dec. '2000 posting (see "Concepts" "Under Pressure???" string)
ENOUGH SAID?

On the Systema forum it was explained that the videoclips are not an example of 'empty force', but an awareness drill meant for the 'uke' (person being thrown).

If you want to read more about it, the Systema forum is at http://russianmartialart.org/forum/phpBB2/
