I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this guy. He teaches bjj in Birmingham, Alabama, and claims to be a brown belt under Rodrigo Medeiros. I'm completely unfamiliar with bjj lineages, and wanted to know if these guys are legit.
Challenge him and do a true test.
you want reality but afraid to test>>!!!?
Hmm. If I challenged the proprietor of "Mike Tyson's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu" and he kicked my hiney, does that guarantee I would learn good bjj there?
Rapp, I did a google search on Rodrigo Medeiro and Samuel Puccio.
It seems the two are connected, http://www.rodrigomedeirosbjj.com/affiliates.asp. I can't find detail information about their relationship, but I wasn't looking very hard.
The short answer to your question seems to be a yes. You should do a search yourself, you might find other related information that interest you.
Thanks, Duong. I had looked at Medeiro's site, but apparently overlooked that page.
In the meantime, I emailed Samuel Puccio, and he seems like a good guy. I had planned to visit his school yesterday, but hurricane Katrina delayed that. I now plan to stop by either later this week or early next week.
i take bjj from samuel and if you have any doubts of his abilities go check him out. i can assure you he is the best in the area.
also rodrigo comes every 6 months and does a 3 hr seminar, so i can assure you they are friends
