Do the grapplers here find heavy drafting useful?
I used to do sets of 100 squats in a row. Just to keep my legs up to par.
Weighted squats are awesome too, if you have correct form. Be careful if you are a beginner and trying out squats or clean presses without a guide.
when I first started wre]stling, I was working out with a varsity champ who placed 3rd in nationals. he was a 138 i was a 160 fatass, He handed me a 140 bar to clean press (lift over your head) My form was terrible and i fell backwards, lmao!!! good thing there was no one behind me because I threw that weight and landed flat on my back, which was very scary and dangerous. The whole team stopped and looked at me, shaking their heads. lol
. I gained weight before applying for the team because I thought I had to. LMAO someone told me they only allowe]d the weights they needed. Then I talked to the coach and he laughed. OMG. I gained 30 f'in pounds for no reason in like a month, I ate carne asada burritos breakfast lunch and dinner. HAHA! SO STUPID!
B\The good thing about it, is that in my weight class, was the ]varsity captian, the best on the team. And I got to practice with him every session. He was kind of dismissive and arrogant, but I still learned a lot from him.
I remember I was in kneeling position and he couldnt break me down so he hit my elbow and hyper extended it.
Lesson learned, they can fight dirty. It hurt like hell. I remember complaining so He would get in trouble, the coaches just looked at him like, "come on man hes a first year"
Good times, great times.. I miss it. Hardest training I have ever been through. I met so many great people.
Your recent posts have been very informative, Robert. Thanks.
