Using wrap weights around the ankles and wrists or a weighted vest and going about your daily activities and slowly adding more weight as time goes on. Any one done this for any extended periods of time or have any info on this?

i think it works great in enhancing speed, i used to wear legweights while i would skate or blade, at the end of the day, id take them off and i would feel super light, its actually pretty fun, i also knew someone who took tkd and he would train with 7 pound leg weights and his kicks were super fast. if i had wrap weights and i werent doing anything, i would do it just for the feeling you get at the end of the day.

reminiscent of piccolo's weighted cape and clothes?

I think for once GG was on to something.

Strapping on wrap weights on your ankles and wrists you can very easily detect the proper balance and alignment of your body as you practice whatever art of movement you are into. It also stregnthens the tendon and ligaments.
Then you purchase one of Tims books, like Effortless Combat Throws and apply these movement principles with the strap weights on.

P.S. Tim has a cool way to escape a headlock, the one where you put your hand on the ground and sweep the the guys legs out from under him. Try this one with weights on!!!!

be careful: don't forget that adding weight at the end of a lever like your arm or leg is not the same as adding resistance to a movement. It's an entirely different line of pull or gravity, and thus changes the mechanics of the motion significantly.

a vest can be great for stamina or stance work, but ankle weights or wrist weights should only be used after careful analysis of the forces involved.
