hello tim,
just wondering if you could recommend any lower back exercises.
thanks.
deadlifts
Reverse raises. Lie on your stomach. Anchor your feet or have someone sit on them. Raise your chest and as much of your abdomen as possible off the floor. Do as many as you can. Do a second set.

One more to help tie together the power in the hamstrings, glutes and lower back:
Stand on your knees, arch your back and push your hips forward a little, locking your torso and legs into position. Have your partner hold your feet down (sit on your lower legs). Maintaining the arch in the back , hinge at the knees and lean forward as far as you can before your hamstrings cramp (it won't be far). be sure not to bend the torso over at the hips. Hold the position for 10 seconds and repeat three times.
thanks guys,
you guys are cool,
very interesting exercise tim, i will try that for sure.
my sensei said my lower back was weak.
thanks once again, your tips are much valued.
cheers.
How about holding and doing pushups in the gymnastic bridge. I seem to feel these in my lower back alot, as well as just about everywhere else...
What do you guys think about that one?
Holding and pressing in the gymnast's bridge is an excellent exercise, but I think beginners should have a coach or trainer instruct then spot them initially.
