Rumble in the Stomach

Tim's Discussion Board: Qi Gong / Power Training : Rumble in the Stomach
   By Internal Struggle on Thursday, April 18, 2002 - 06:20 pm: Edit Post

I have started Qigong meditation recently. I started with some basic Yin Jing Jing (but stopped that for later), 8 Pieces of Brocade, BaGua 8 palms standing meditation, The shaking palm, Bagua's 64, The 64 but doing the 8 original palms, Xing Yi's Five Elements, and Yoga.

Anyways, I and the people I train with have no teacher and we dont know what the rumble in the stomach is. We have made guesses but we would prefer a more experienced conclusion.

One of our guesses is that sperm is being transformed into Chi essence. Another is that old undigested substance is finally moving around. Another is the organs are massageing themselves causing a rumble. Its probally not even from the stomach. We are clueless.

The rumble is actually audible at times of deep concentration. Its kind of beautiful. Anyways what the hell is this?

Okay, I have to ask, how did the sperm get into your stomachs?

   By Internal Struggle on Friday, April 19, 2002 - 02:12 am: Edit Post

funny . . . real funny.

I think the rumble is your internal organs turning Chinese. If you keep up the practice you will turn completely Chinese!

I read about it in one of Robert Smith's books.

I thought it was happening to me one time, but it was only gas.

   By Internal Struggle on Friday, April 19, 2002 - 07:22 pm: Edit Post

So its gas moving around? I dont think so it is apparent with every inhalation and every exhalation. It doesnt feel bad or anything, I just want to know what exactly is happening. Is it the Chi building up in the Dantien waiting for me to transfer it to my outter limbs? Or is it just gas? Im pretty sure its not gas.

Its probably increased bloodflow in the abdomen. It happens when you do your breating correctly and it works the muscles to massage the area.

That's supposed to read 'breathing', of course.

Internal Struggle,

I've been teaching Tai Chi for many, many years. I get paid $200 an hour for private lessons and even more for seminars all over Southern California! Therefore you should not question what I say.

You are turning Chinese.

Since you are doing such focused practice the 'internal' and the changes are happening so rapidly that the organs are grumbling to each other because they are waking up to their new, better,wiser, Chinese selves.

I recommend you drink a gallon of Green tea every
day for the next two weeks.

Don't panic. After your innards turn Chinese you
will take on the outward characteristics and will then understand everything about all things.

Congratulations and Xia-Xia,
Roberto Numero Dos

It must be the echo of Shaking Palm imparting its reflexologic reverberations on the 8 brocades. According to the Yellow Emporer's classics the order of your practices, which is a multitude, is impotent.

Furthermore, according to the I-Ching, during this seasonal transformation into spring, the young man in you is producing more sperm.

DO NOT perform Shaking Palm. Transform your heightened energy, Yi, maximized blood flow in the lower region with shi zao.

sperm in your stomach, a young man "in you is producing more sperm"---I seriously think you two have stumbled into the wrong discussion group. Maybe you're looking for the "Internal Marital aides" board.

If I.T. is turning Chinese, I doubt he'll take kindly to the 'Yellow Emporer' comment. If he's not, then I.T. might want to avoid the "impotent" causing order of practice.

Eliot Hall seems to make the most sence. I can see the vains all over my arms and dantien area, that must be a sign of increased blood flow. I have read that the Chi is in the blood so thanx, I feel better now and the people I train with will also appreciate the explaination.

Bob, I do the shaking palms very slowly, Qi Gong style. So I dont know if it would be "reflexologic reverbrations" passing into the next exercise like the 8 Pieces of Brocade. We also dont have a paticular order. But if the Yellow Emperor says its important then it must be. We tend to spread out the Chi Gong routines between other drills and martial exercises in a six hour period. So we dont really do a Chi Gong exercise after the other. But on the other hand all of the drills are Qi Gong because of the breath control. Even when we do roll outs and crawl on the ground I try to breath into my dantien.

"According to the Yellow Emporer's classics the order of your practices, which is a multitude, is impotent"
I have the book; "Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine". Is this the same book that you have. I never read it, but I'll give it a look now.

Bob2, Yes I do feel more Chinese. "Heesa funky China man, from funky China town. . ."

Oh yeah, Bob, what is Shi Zao? What other names does it go under, what styles practice it? Why would shaking palm be bad if my body is creating more sperm? Wouldnt the increase production of sperm benefit all QiGong practice in general?

I know that Yang and Yin must be balanced, but how?!

IS,

Long ago in China, Shi Zao was most often practiced by those who were well to do. Today, with our technological advances many people can participate in this practice. It blends well with almost any type of IMA. In fact, you do not need to be an IMA to learn, practice and enjoy its benefits.

It doesn't matter how slow or fast you practice Shaking Palm, as the end result is the same. Instead of Shaking Palm, if you want to transform sperm into chi, you should practice Shi Zao. Shi Zao is 'shower', and for you the Yellow Emperor recommends a cold one ;)

Whenever I feel Rumbly in my Tumbly I know I'm in the mood for honey! Sometimes I get it from Pigglet, sometimes from Christopher Robin, mostly my dear friend Rabbit always has plenty of honey to spare. You might try dropping in on Rabbit the next time you feel Rumbly in your tumbly. Be careful though, once I ate so much honey at Rabbit's house I got stuck in his door way when trying to leave.

I bet the sysop wont threaten Whinnie the Pooh by kicking him out for being off the subject like he did me. But I guess that one curse I wrote must of made the difference (I'm being sarcastic).

But you know what? I think it was because I got political, and whinnie is just cute. God forbid we Americans talk serious politics and not just CNN politics. "You want the truth? You cant handle the truth!" - Jack

Personally whinnie the pooh didnt bother me, it actually brought a smile to my face. Its just the hypocracy of the sysop that bothers me.

My point is, if your going to censor politics then you should equally censor Walt Disney. The flame room is for people who have differences. SO I should have posted this in the flame room, but I wanted every one to know this including whinnie.

If you dont know what im talking about go to the BaGua section and read the thread on Imperial BaGua vs BaGua. I was given a "first and final warning" for being off the topic and one curse. Not only that It was let known that Internal Struggle and Old Spirit was the same person. I apologised because I did break the rules, but so did Whinnie The Pooh and many others here. They never get "First and final warnings" and that is wrong.

A possible remediation: Instead of reprimending Pooh to make things even, you might be better off giving me an apology for the threat. I really like this forum and that is why im adrressing this.

Thanks for the info on Shi Zao, Bob. Im going to look into it.

You know what, I changed my mind I dont want an apology, I just want you to recognize and understand.

Internal Struggle;
What set me off is not the curse. I just don't want you to go on diatribes on your political or social issues. This a Martial Arts forum and it is here to promote Tim's livelihood. Everybody can go off topic on the original thread if they want to bicker a little and humor is always welcome.

Internal Struggle;
I reread your comment tonight. I really didn't have time to absorb your statement this morning. It has resulted in you joining a elite class of people that have been banned from this board.

Internal Struggle;
F.Y.I., Just like all people banned on this board, you are welcome back at some point if you agree to abide by the Board's Terms of Use.

Oh bother,

It seems as though I stirred the pot and caused some trouble. The worst part is there was no honey in the pot only bees. A little bear like me can get in more trouble on the internet than in the Hundred acre wood. Oh well, I'll just have to pay a visit to Rabbit, I'm sure he'll have some honey and that will make me feel better.
