I'm starting to find out that breakfalls are a really good conditioning excercise. It's like you're taking a hit and your heart is pumping at the same time. I've just been executing them one after the other on my carpeted floor(don't have a mat).
The having to get up from the ground position is especially good too since you have to pick yourself up from a lower position than a chair. Does anyone else do breakfalls regularly as conditioning?
Actually, everyone that practices any style of wrestling/grappling or MMA will have various breakfalling and rolling drills as part of their daily training.
I've discovered that squats are a good excercise. Does anyone else do any type of squating regularly?

Good point, Tim. I was just stating the merits of breakfalls as a stand alone(actually a fall alone) conditioning drill. It conditions the body for contact IMHO. I never feel more exhausted and good than a day where I've been getting thrown around a lot
That's a good point about breakfalls being good for conditioning the body for contact. It's a positive training effect of the practice that is often overlooked.
I stopped paying my morgage and have been squatting for the past 18 months
